We visited Baghaberd Fortress with our visiting Workawayers. The fortress is a 4th to 12th century Armenian fortress located along a ridge overlooking the Voghji River 14km northwest from the village of Kapan in the Syunik Province of Armenia. The fortress is one of the most picturesque in Armenia and has a colourful history. It is rarely visited by locals or tourists and offers a beautiful vista where you can relax and picnic. Strategically the fortress guards the point where two valleys converge and offers some stunning views of the area. It can be reached with a short hike from the M2 road, 14km from Kapan.
